We are so excited to announce that our new Shlicha, Yael Grunfeld, is currently on her way from Israel! She will be arriving tomorrow morning in Potomac. You can watch a video introducing Yael by clicking here.
Yael will be an amazing addition to our community. Her responsibilities will include Israel programming as well as serving as our Youth Director. Beth Sholom is so grateful to the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and the Jewish Agency for Israel for their generous support and for enabling the shaliach program to happen at our shul and at many other local synagogues.
***OPPORTUNITY TO HELP YAEL!*** For the first 10 days she is here, Yael will be quarantining. We are hoping that we can come together as a community to help Yael with some meals. Please sign up to cook a meal for Yael by clicking here (you can drop meals at the door). By signing up to make Yael a meal, you are affirming that you will follow Beth Sholom's Kashrut guidelines, which you can access by clicking here. If you make a meal for Yael you also must wear a mask and gloves while preparing the food!
If you make Yael a meal, please also feel free to sign up for a zoom meeting with her during mealtime so that you can eat "together!" If you have any technical difficulties with the signup form, please reach out to Rabbi Cooper at rabbicooper@bethsholom.org.
If you cannot make a meal for Yael but you would like to find a time to meet with her on Zoom and welcome her to the community, please feel free to email her to set up a time to speak: ygrunfeld@bethsholom.org.
There will be many opportunities to meet Yael both during her quarantine and in the weeks ahead. We are so excited to welcome Yael to Beth Sholom!
