Farewell Shabbat for Rabbanit Fruchter

Saturday, May 25, 2019 20 Iyyar 5779

12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Bring ruach and your good wishes as we say l'hitraot to Rabbanit Fruchter. Shacharit at 9:00 AM, Kiddush to follow. Details about contributing to the memory book coming soon.

A note from Rabbi Antine and Arnie Hiller:  As many of you know, Rabbanit Fruchter will be departing on June 1st to start a new community in South Philadelphia. Please join us for her farewell Shabbat on May 25, as we express appreciation and wish her much success in this exciting new endeavor.

Rabbanit Fruchter has brought so much to Beth Sholom. Her sermons and classes have nourished our hearts and minds. Her singing and spirit have elevated our souls. And perhaps most significantly, her care and concern for each and everyone of us have been so meaningful during both happy and challenging times. I know that the deep connections that Rabbanit Fruchter made with so many of us will continue for many years to come.

While more information forthcoming about the program for that Shabbat, we want to invite the entire community to participate in an appreciation book where one can share their memories. As a symbol of her deep commitment and admiration of our wonderful community, Rabbanit Fruchter has asked that we pair her farewell with a fundraiser to help the shul build on her success.

To that end, we will be raising money and dedicate the Epstein Sanctuary’s skylight in her honor.

According to our tradition, the skylight in the synagogue reminds us that our prayers can soar to the heavens. We have all been inspired by Rabbanit Fruchter’s tefilah, torah and spiritual guidance. Rabbanit Fruchter has helped our prayers and neshamas reach greater heights. It is therefore fitting to dedicate our shul’s skylight in her honor.

Skylight in Epstein Sanctuary  - $36,000
Please consider honoring Rabbanit Fruchter at one of these Sponsorship levels so that we can dedicate the skylight in her honor:
$7200 -  Shamayim (Heaven)
$3600 - Rakia (Firmament)
$1800 - Shemesh (Sun)
$1000- Levanah (Moon)
$540 - Ananim (Clouds)
$180- Mazalot (Constellations)
$72 - Kochavim  (Stars)

Please see below to contribute to the dedication and to add your own appreciation, poem, or reflection on your interactions with Rabbanit Fruchter. While we encourage a minimum donation of $72, everyone should have the opportunity to contribute. Please use the “other” category to make a donation in any other amount that you are comfortable with. Also please note that since this is a Building Dedication (The Sanctuary Skylight) and not a donation to Operations, AGP funds cannot be allocated to this fundraiser.
Finally, if anyone would like to be involved in a planning committee to make this shabbat very special for our community and for Rabbanit Fruchter, please contact us at rabbiantine@bethsholom.org or president@bethsholom.org

Thank You.
