Food brought into the synagogue for any purpose (kiddush, seudah shlisheet, Talmud Torah or Early Childhood Center functions, etc.) must be kosher by the standards of the Rabbinical Council of Greater Washington (the Washington Vaad). The table below contains some of the certifying agencies acceptable to the Vaad, and their kosher symbols (hechshers). If there are any questions concerning kashrut, they should be addressed to Rabbi Tessler. This list is believed correct; it may not be complete.
