Announcements:

Volunteers are needed to process books and to catalog the Bobrow Chapel collection.  Teens may earn community service hours.

Now through August 1: copies of The Heavens Are Empty by Avrom Bendavid-Val are for sale in the shul office.  The book tells the story of the life and death of one of the most unusual but unknown shtetls in Eastern Europe. An imagined Trochenbrod was the setting for Jonathan Safran Foer’s novel and movie, Everything is Illuminated.  Proceeds benefit the library’s fund

9:15 p.m.      Author Avrom Bendavid-Val discusses his book, The Heavens Are Empty

Sunday, October 14 at 3:00 p.m:  Library Fundraiser.  Beth Sholom has reserved a block of seats at Strathmore Music Center for an all-Beethoven program by the National Philharmonic Orchestra, featuring Israeli-born pianist Orli Shaham.  The program includes the Leonore Overture No. 3, Piano Concerto No. 3 and Symphony No. 3 “Eroica”.  Tickets are $55 discounted until June 30, $62 thereafter.  Children 7-17 $5 by advance arrangement. Our fundraiser tickets are for sale only in advance at the BSCTT office.
